Like all Americans, I am saddened to see the absolute devastation that is impacting many parts of New York & New Jersey as a result of Hurricane Sandy. While it was certainly windy & rainy in the DC area, what we got pales in comparison to what our neighbors to the north are dealing with.

- If you’re in New York City & want to volunteer, city evacuation shelters are looking for assistance. If you want to assist in Lower Manhattan specifically, there’s a website for that as well.
- New York Food Bank – or to donate via your mobile phone, text FBNYC to 50555
I know that New York & New Jersey will pull themselves up by their bootstraps & rebuild better than before.
