Top Travel Blogs to Read in 2015

One of my favorite things about being a blogger is the incredible travel blogging community. I’m constantly amazed every day with incredibly talented, creative, thoughtful writers who share amazing experiences, & have me in deep wanderlust on a daily basis.

One of my New Year’s resolution is to read more in 2015. If this is one of your goals too, here are some of my favorite travel blogs to get you started:

Our Tasty Travels

Brett & Erin write about eating around the globe on their blog, Our Tasty Travels. But not only do they write about food, they write about washing it down with amazing global beers & wine. Warning: their posts will make you hungry!

Camels & Chocolate

I have long been a huge fan of Kristin Luna & her fun writing style & colorful photography. She chronicles her global adventures on her blog Camels & Chocolate. Her writing carries a heavy dose of dreamy destinations combined with the sometimes painful experience of modern travel (see: her experience with Delta losing her bags last year). One of the things I love most about her site is that she travels like I do: sometimes solo, sometimes not. Sometimes to the beach, sometimes to the mountains. Sometimes luxuriously, sometimes not.

Uncornered Market

My favorite thing about Dan & Audrey’s blog, Uncornered Market, is their amazing photography. Every post makes me want to jump on a plane & head somewhere exotic!

Seek New Travel

My friend Kit Whelan was the first person to introduce me to the term “digital nomad.” She & her partner, Nick, live the life I dream of, working as freelancers & traveling the globe. I met Kit by accident at a farmers market in Barbados & I’ve been following her travels ever since. Even though I’m not a digital nomad, she provides great travel & packing advice on her blog Seek New Travel.

Landlopers

Matt Long, the writer behind the popular blog Landlopers, was one of the first people I met in the travel blogging world. I count him as not only a bit of a blogging mentor (he became a full time blogger a few years ago), but also a friend. Like Kristin, Matt travels a lot like I do: luxury adventure. He has checked many places off my bucket list!

Dream Travel Magazine

Sharon writes about dreamy travel experiences on her blog Dream Travel Magazine. She has an incredible story: after a FAM trip gone bad (I’ve had many near trip-gone-bad experiences!), she totally reformed her life, lost a ton of weight & began following her passions. Plus, I had no choice but to include Sharon because I thought we all needed a little more Aruba in our lives… Don’t mind me, I’ll be over here dreaming of that hammock.

Calculated Traveller

One of the things I love about Mary’s blog Calculated Traveller is that she loves cruising almost as much as I do. Of course, she doesn’t just write about cruising, she has lots of other adventures – from Florida to Barcelona – & droll worthy photos to go with them.

  1. Thank you so much for your kind words! And for other blog recommendations. One of my resolutions is to get back to blog reading this year. I feel like with the explosion of social media these past years (and really, the introduction of Instagram), I’ve stopped reading the Internet like I once did.

And, did I tell you I got a check for Delta from $1000 last week? Only took SEVEN MONTHS and incessant complaining online ;-)

  2. You are far too kind. You just made my day! :) It’s been far too long since we’ve seen you — I think we are far overdue for a visit — sake reunion?

    1. Sake reunion in Belize? Yes!

  3. Always look forward to viewing some of the top blogs around! Thanks for sharing your picks for 2015!

  4. What a cool list! It’s a pleasure to discover new travel bloggers.
    Thanks for sharing this!!
