I am not ashamed to admit that one of the primary reasons I was so excited to go on the Celebrity Equinox is because of the Lawn Club. As a city girl who lives in a condo & doesn’t have access to much green space, I relished the notion of spreading out a towel, kicking off my sandals, & running my toes through the grass as I read. This half-acre of real grass on one of the top decks was just mind blowing to me.
The Lawn Club hosts a variety of activities throughout the cruise including: bocce ball, croquette, & lawn bowling tournaments; wine & cheese parties with live music during some sail aways; a rather challenging putting green (the grass is a little long for it); &, of course, a great sunny or shady place to sit.
The Lawn Club can be found on all of Celebrity’s Solstice class ships & is one of the most ingenious things I’ve ever seen at sea. Interestingly enough, it was never crowded, with the majority of passengers opting to hang out by the pool instead. There was always a quiet space to sit & relax, without being cramped.
