I realized the other day that I’ve been seriously behind in sharing my Photo 365 photos. Never fear, though, I’ve kept up with my photo-a-day efforts, only missing one day this entire year. Are you struggling with your Photo 365 Project as we head into the straight-away? This is the furthest in the year I’ve ever gotten with one & I’ve learned from my previous mistakes. Some tips:
- If you have trouble deciding what to shoot, try a theme: your morning coffee, your lunch, your morning walk, the sunset. I like the variety of not having a set theme, although next year I may try shooting my morning coffee.
- Shoot everything on the same camera. For me, that means 99% of my shots are done with my iPhone. In previous years, I’ve taken all my photos with a simple point-and-shoot. My iPhone has definitely made the project easier.
- Don’t be afraid to whip your camera out when you see your shot. I’ve stopped in the middle of sidewalks to shoot the sunset sky & the middle of a business lunch to shoot a cool reflection off of a skyscraper.
- It’s all about capturing the moment. I like to try to find something that will only happen once & truly captures the essence of the day: a sunset, a shadow, a lunch, a rainy day, the Nats going to the postseason for the first time since 1933 :)
Below are my photos for August & September. If you’re curious about the whole year, you can always check out my Project 365 Flickr set. Happy snapping!
