Robert H. Treman State Park in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York is positively gorge-ous (pun intended). The park’s moderately challenging 5 mile round trip hike takes you through the gorge & up to the top of the gorge rim. One of the highlights of the hike is the natural swimming hole – complete with diving board – at the base of one of the gorge’s 12 waterfalls. Make sure to pack your swim suit (we regretted that we didn’t!).
The highlight for us was wadding out into the creek to stand at the base of Lucifer Falls. There’s no better way to respect the awesome power of nature than getting soaked by a waterfall!
