Travel Apps & Gadgets I’m Loving

I haven’t done a post in a while on my favorite travel apps & gadgets, so I thought I’d share the latest things that I’m obsessing over on every trip.

The TravelCard

I’ve been needing an external battery pack for my iPhone for a while. I was constantly running out of battery while out at client events or on long flights. Enter: The TravelCard. What I love about this device is that, unlike most external chargers, this one is tiny. It’s credit card thin, fits easily in my wallet & can take my phone from dead to 40% very quickly.  There’s an external usb that charges the actual device by plugging into your computer’s USB port.

This thing is a life changer & potentially a trip saver. Order one immediately.

TripIt

I’m still using, & loving, TripIt. While I haven’t bitten the bullet & upgraded to Pro, even the basic (free) version serves my purposes. It’s almost second nature now when I’m booking travel that I just forward my itineraries to my personalized TripIt email address & don’t think about it again until my trip begins. I also love that I can see all my trips at once – very helpful when you travel for both business & leisure as much as I do.

Can you believe Christmas is only 80 days away? Wowsers…

White Noise Machine

I’m a super light sleeper. I hear everything. Or, in the case of the cabin we rented in the Finger Lakes, absolutely nothing. Blame my urban environs, but I just can’t sleep any more without a white noise machine. I even have a white noise app on my phone that I love (TM Soft) & I have been known to put earphones in to sleep on planes. But for a noisy hotel room, or a way-too-quiet cabin, I love my portable white noise machine.  I think it kind of looks like a UFO, but it’s light weight & tucks perfectly into a suitcase.

Oh yeah, & if your spouse hates the white noise sound like B does, there’s also calming nature sounds. Those crickets came in really handy in the Finger Lakes.

Instagram

I can’t help it. I love Instagram. I’ve had it for about three years & I’m just obsessed with it. I love sharing photography & seeing what everyone is up to on a daily basis – from a cup of coffee to their travels. I’m currently doing a little Instagram project of #31HappyDays, so head over there to see what’s making me smile on a daily basis.
