Wordless Wednesday: Groundhog Day

In America, we have this ridiculous holiday called Groundhog Day. The basic premise: every February 2, a groundhog (Phil, who lives in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, is the “official weather forecasting” groundhog) pops out of his hole at 7:20am. If he sees his shadow, it means there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, there will be an early spring. In honor of this ridiculousness, I thought I’d share some of my favorite winter & spring photos. Do you think Phil will see his shadow tomorrow? Personally, I wouldn’t mind a pretty snowfall, since we haven’t had much of a winter here in D.C.!

  1. I’m with you, I’m actually craving some snow…. It’s easier now that we don’t have to deal with the issues of roads/traffic/commute when winter is in full swing… it feels a little more magical and less of a hassle ;) I’m hoping Phil sees his shadow!
