Today, we leave for another adventure. Really, our first adventure of 2012, which, in my opinion, is way over due – we are three & a half months into the year already! This morning we’re flying to Florida (first time flying JetBlue – awesome thing about this trip #1) & spending some time in Ft. Lauderdale with a good friend of mine who I don’t get to see very often. Then, tomorrow morning, we board the Celebrity Equinox.

On Saturday & Sunday, we’ll be spending two relaxing, blissful days at sea…

& I’ll also be celebrating my 30th birthday.

(if I type it small, that means it’s not happening, right?)

We’ll spend a week hitting up islands in the eastern & southern Caribbean:
Monday: St. Thomas, exploring on our own

Tuesday: St. Kitts, spending time at the fabulous St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort

Wednesday: Barbados, a place you already know I have a soft spot in my heart for. On what will probably be our last trip to the island for a very long time, we’ll be spending time with friends, laughing, lunching, & drinking a lot of Banks beer.

Thursday: Dominica, sea kayaking & exploring this lush island

Friday: Sint Maarten (or St. Martin, if you prefer), cruising around the island & exploring

We’ll finish out our cruise with two more days at sea, before arriving back to Ft. Lauderdale early Monday morning & flying back to DC. Oh yeah, & then on Tuesday I’ll be starting a new job.

*whew!*

But don’t worry, things won’t be quiet while I’m gone. You’ll be hearing from some great guest bloggers who will be writing about their favorite warm weather destinations.

I know cruising isn’t for everyone, but it definitely is for me. I’m really looking forward to this trip as a time to relax, reconnect with my husband, celebrate life, recharge between jobs, & read a few books (on my itinerary: Tina Fey’s Bossypants & Heather Poole’s new flight attendant memoir Cruising Attitude).

I can’t wait to come back & share all our crazy stories (& a few surprises) with all of you!
