Washington, D.C.: wrap up

I hope you’ve enjoyed tootling around my hometown of Washington, D.C. over the past few weeks. Lets review the top five & a half things we’ve learned:
5. The most important rule when riding D.C. public transit: stand to the right on the escalators.
4. When museum hopping, there’s plenty of awesome free to choose from. Save your $20 for an awesome lunch.
3. If you’re looking for casual dining, the city is full of great places.
2.5 Hard Times Cafe in Old Town Alexandria offers some of the best non-fancy-pants dining around.
2. The birthday cake at Restaurant Eve in Old Town Alexandria is simply to die for, as are the steak frites at Bastille… & they’re one of many choices when it comes to fine dining in Northern Virginia.
1. The monuments look most beautiful at night.
