Like all Americans, I am saddened to see the absolute devastation that is impacting many parts of New York & New Jersey as a result of Hurricane Sandy. While it was certainly windy & rainy in the DC area, what we got pales in comparison to what our neighbors to the north are dealing with.
If you’re so inclined, please visit the sites below to contribute to the relief effort:
- Red Cross – or to donate via your mobile phone, text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief
- If you’re in New York City & want to volunteer, city evacuation shelters are looking for assistance. If you want to assist in Lower Manhattan specifically, there’s a website for that as well.
- New York Food Bank – or to donate via your mobile phone, text FBNYC to 50555
I know that New York & New Jersey will pull themselves up by their bootstraps & rebuild better than before.
