Headed to Florida

This weekend, B & I are headed to Florida for a little R&R over the long Memorial Day weekend. Even though I grew up in Tampa, I don’t get back there nearly enough & am always excited when I get the chance to head to my old stomping grounds.

We’ll be staying at the Vinoy in St. Petersburg (now part of the Renaissance by Mariott group). I’m so excited to stay at this luxurious, historic property. I’m really hoping for a nice chill weekend of relaxing by the pool with a book & a fruity drink & lots of walks on the beach, digging my toes in the sand & awesome Gulf sunsets. I’m even splurging & getting a 50 minute foot massage, which I’m guessing will be nothing short of heavenly.

I haven’t quite figured out our itinerary while we’re there, but know that we’ll be spending Sunday at Busch Gardens. I always get overly nostalgic when I go there – it’s my old high school stomping grounds! All my friends & I had season passes our junior & senior years… we’d go ride roller coasters after school. We’ll probably hit up Frenchy’s for lunch, grab some Publix subs to nosh on the beach, & take in at least one sunset at The Hurricane.

Mostly, it’s just a chance to relax & spend some quality time together. Keep an eye on Instagram, where I’ll be sharing photos all weekend.
