‘Tis the season for planning summer vacations! Looking for a great destination hotel to visit this summer? Here are six phenomenal hotels to add to your summer travels:
1. Stowe Mountain Lodge, Vermont
The ski town of Stowe, Vermont isn’t just for winter adventures! The Stowe Mountain Lodge, which just went through a multi-million dollar renovation to enhance activities, is the perfect place to reconnect with nature during the warmer weather months. With great access to hiking trails, including the Sterling Pond trail which we tackled last summer, Stowe Mountain Lodge makes for a great summer giveaway.
2. Renaissance Vinoy, St. Petersburg
The exact opposite of getting in touch with nature is doing nothing but lounging by the pool. I can’t think of a better place to be pampered by the pool than the Renaissance Viony in St. Petersburg, Florida. Pool butlers bring fruity drinks, popsicles (if it’s especially warm), & lunch right to your pool-side chair. If you get tired of sitting by the pool, the beaches of Clearwater & St. Pete Beach are right around the corner.
3. Keswick Hall
For the perfect Mid-Atlantic escape, head to Keswick Hall just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. My good friend Chris headed to this destination property last year & absolutely fell in love with it. Located right in the middle of Virginia’s growing wine country & within easy driving distance of Charlottesville’s walkable downtown area.
4. Inn at the Market, Seattle
I first stayed at the Inn at the Market about five years ago & it is still one of my favorite hotels in the entire United States. Perfectly situated smack in the middle of Pike Place Market, this wonderful property has some of the best customer service of any property we’ve ever stayed in. Make sure you get a room with a water view, as the sunsets over Puget Sound are some of the best we’ve seen in the entire world. If you don’t want to splurge on a waterfront view, the hotel has an expansive deck to enjoy the views.
5. Bass Cottage Inn, Bar Harbor
Bass Cottage Inn is a luxury inn nestled in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, Maine. This ten-room inn is one of my favorite properties we’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast was phenomenal & is served in their beautiful, light-filled former restaurant. Our blue & white room oozed New England charm. The best thing about the location was that we could park & go everywhere we wanted to: cycling into the park, walking to dinner & just a few steps to the water & into a pair of kayaks.
6. Rimrock Resort, Banff
Rimrock Resort is located up a quiet mountain road on the outskirts of the town of Banff in Alberta. My favorite thing about staying at this grand historic resort were the absolutely amazing, sweeping views of the Canadian Rockies. The property is literally in the mountains, which means that everywhere you look, you’re surrounded by breathtaking nature. By visiting during the summer, we were rewarded with sunsets at 9:30pm & endless amounts of green pine trees everywhere we looked.
Is there a phenomenal hotel where you’ve spent your summer vacation that I missed?
Tell me about it in the comments!
