Two unique restaurants in the Celebrity Solstice Class ships are Bistro on Five (a creperie) & Cafe al Bacio (a coffee shop). We checked them both out on our recent cruise on the Celebrity Equinox & were pleasantly surprised.
Bistro on Five offers a variety of sweet & savory crepes. We stopped by for lunch on our first sea day (which happened to be my 30th birthday) & were seated at a table right by the huge windows. The menu offered a wide variety of crepes & the $5 per person cover charged covered all you could eat.
I ordered a delicious savory crepe stuffed with roasted chicken, garlic, sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella & basil pesto. Brad had a spicy & savory buffalo chicken crepe, stuffed with bleu cheese. To top things off, we finished the meal with a Nutella & banana crepe.
The food was excellent & the service was friendly. The Bistro on Five was well worth the $5 per person cover charge, considering the generous portions & unique offerings.

After nine days at sea without a decent cup of coffee (for some reason, Celebrity’s regular coffee upset my stomach), this Starbucks addict was getting a little weary. Enter Cafe al Bacio. I decided to stop by the little cafe when I had some free time one morning to enjoy a coffee & get some writing done.
My latte only cost $4.50 – the exact same price I pay for a grande Starbucks latte at home – & came with a variety of mini-biscotti & mimi-croissants to enjoy.
The comfortable cafe seemed to be a popular gathering spot for both the passengers & the officers & the high winged back chairs offered the perfect place to relax with a book & a cup o’ joe or to stare out the window & watch the cobalt blue waves go by.
