Life Lately – According to Instagram

Life lately? It has been a little crazy – a little travel, a lot of work, some ups, some downs. While it has been a little quiet on my blog, I’m always posting over on Instagram. If you don’t follow me over there (tisk!) here’s what I’ve been up to the last month or so:

First, I went on a business trip to Pittsburgh, which knocked my socks off with their awesome architecture, street art & local eats (& beers)

When was the last time you were surprised by a destination? Absolutely smitten with Pittsburgh!

Good-bye, Pittsburgh! You’ve been unexpectedly lovely (& photogenic!)

Then I went to Ohio for the weekend to see a friend who needed a helping hand (& we went to the most picturesque place for brunch!):

Wishing everyone a pretty, peaceful Sunday. What are you up to today? I’m spending some time in Ohio, helping my BFF who is having some health issues. My weekend has been filled with snuggles, slumber parties & lots of giggles with her 9 month old & 5 year old. Auntie Christina to the rescue – & it’s a role I’m so blessed to play.

Then I went to NYC (but just for a night)…

When in NYC, always look up. Today reveals blue skies, Art Deco architecture & famous skyscrapers.

But mostly I’ve just been reading #17booksfor2017 (just finished book 8!)

#17booksfor2017 Book 8: Unsurprisingly, I loved this book. The editor, rather famously, published a previous anthology of essays written by various famous people saying good riddance to NYC. She got a lot of flack for it because, like me, there are a whole lot of people madly in love with New York City. So she published this as a bit of an apology – an ode to the city. I really enjoyed this collection of stories about all the little things that make the Big Apple so addicting. I especially identified with this passage by author Jason Diamond: “Hemingway wrote about Paris being a movable feast, the kind of place that stays with you for the rest of your days once you’ve truly experienced it. That’s what this place feels like to me. No single city truly affects a person like New York does.” 🍎
